ABOUT THESE PICTURES
When I first started shooting these clouds, I had a preference for clouds alone, isolated, floating in the sky. But especially in my home town, Las Vegas, New Mexico, in my daily activities around town, it’s often hard to get a shot of clouds without something in the foreground – buildings, trees, landscape.
     Gradually I got to like many of those just as well, as the foreground material adds some perspective, some emphasis to the clouds. So, you will see both types of photos here – clouds isolated, and with foreground stuff.
    As for the occasional jet trails, I have no objection to them, and I consider them, too, to be clouds, for the purposes of these photos.
    I always have the feeling that the clouds may be speaking to me if I can only decipher their messages. A good exercise, anyhow. A Norse legend says the dome of the sky that we see is the inside of the skull of one of their major gods, and the clouds are his thoughts. I like that too.     -Jim Terr
