This exquisite cabin, which can sleep up to four people, is close to Bitter Lakes Bird Refuge.
Fully furnished with a kitchen and washer-dryer, it is available for one, two, or three days.  
The cabin is nested in a pecan orchard 5 minutes from Farmers Country Market and other retail outlets.




Set in the lovely backdrop of the oldest pecan orchards in Roswell,
an area known as Berrendo Farms, the Schooley
compound provides a peaceful rest while
exploring the natural attractions of the area.

 

This artists’ home and studio is decorated
with original art works of Elmer (Skinny)
and Gertrude Schooley, renowned southwestern
oil painters.



The studio casita offers
sleeping accommodations for up to four
people. (Larger groups can be considered.)
High ceilings, beautiful lighting, fully equipped
kitchen complete with L-shaped front porch
and a privacy fenced yard make this short-term
lodging a must on your sight-seeing itinerary.



The facility is perfect for retreats and meetings, and even small musical recitals!
It includes a hand-built German Steingraeber upright piano.

Bitter Lakes National Wildlife Refuge
is one of the
more biologically significant wetland areas of the
Pecos River watershed system and is a seasonal
home to thousands of migrating Sandhill Cranes
and Snow Geese. Many events and tours are
hosted by the US Fish and Wildlife Service as well
as Friends of Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge.

Carlsbad Caverns National Monument is part of a
300-cave system beneath the Chihuahuan Desert
and Guadalupe Mountains of southeastern New
Mexico and west Texas. The park contains 116 of these

White Sands National Monument rises from the
heart of the Tularosa Basin and is one of the world’s
great natural wonders-the glistening white sands
of New Mexico. Great wave-like dunes have
engulfed 275 sq. miles of desert and created the
world’s largest gypsum dune field. Check for the

Bottomless Lakes State Park is noted as New Mexico’s
first state park. The park is actually several small
lakes bordered by high red bluffs, and offers a
variety of activities including hiking, swimming,
fishing and scuba diving.

Bonito Lake is an alpine reservoir located high in
the Sierra Blanca Mountains northwest of Ruidoso,
New Mexico. It is surrounded by the Lincoln
National Forest and is owned by the City of
Alamogordo. Its high mountain beauty offers
hiking, fishing and horseback riding.
